Providing Gosford and the Central Coast with quality wine, beer and spirits
I’ve been involved in the liquor game in one form or another for most of my life.
A large portion of my retailing experience was gained from my 10 years at Theo’s Liquor, Australia’s largest independent liquor retailer at the time. After Theo’s sold I partnered up with one of my customers and created Wine Culture in Roseville. This liquor store proved to be very successful but after 9 years and now having moved to the Central Coast NSW I decided to sell to my partner and start a new venture on the Central Coast: Oldfield Cellars. Here we're focused on bringing back old school retailing to the Central Coast. Bringing quality beers, wines and spirits to you, along with great service and advice. You’ll know what I mean when you pop into the store (57 Central Coast Highway) for a browse… Strap yourself in as we’re not normal and we want to scream it from the tree tops. Cheers, Garth Oldfield Owner ------------------------------------------------------ I have always been interested in quality booze for as long as I was able, but it all really began after finishing up University and falling into a big box liquor job. This was supposed to only last through the summer until I could get a real job, however I ended up being there for over five years. In this time, I developed an obsessive interest in beer, I drank as many different beers as I could get my hands on, read as much on beer and brewing as I could get my hands on and attended as many festivals and events as I could manage. However, big box liquor was, for me, ultimately frustrating and somewhat soul destroying. This was to change when I dropped into Oldfield Cellars and I found a local business actually selling better beer. I started shopping at the cellars while still working up the road and when I dropped in to pick up a few beers, offered some advice to Garth and began pestering him for a job - eventually he caved and the rest is history.
